Mosaic is CISV’s local community-based program.
Mosaic can be anything from a one-off event to a year-long project.
Mosaic projects are planned and delivered by our Chapters, using CISV’s educational approach, and each one responds to local needs and interests in a meaningful way. Most projects are designed and run in cooperation with partner organizations to further the benefit to the local community. Being part of a Mosaic project is a real-life learning experience that will have a lasting impact and, if you’re new to CISV, it’s a great way to get involved!
In the Miami chapter, we have taken part in a new Mosaic program called “AHESSI” with the Lotus House. Ahessi means friend in the Seminole language. The Lotus House is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless women, youth and children. They provide sanctuary, support, education, tools and resources that empower them to heal, learn, grow and blossom into who they are truly meant to be.
In October 2020 we had a drive to collect gently used Halloween costumes and donated them in person to the children. On November 21, our JB Board visited the children and hosting arts and crafts activities around the theme of gratitude and Thanksgiving.
