Yesterday family and friends from all over South Florida joined us for an afternoon full of fun at OPEN DAY!
During Open Day, the Step UP camp is open to the public for one day. It is the opportunity to show to the local chapter how the camp is going, to practice national dance, dress up in the traditional costumes and enjoy bites from Argentina, Austria, China, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Norway and USA (Pittsburgh)!
The Step UP delegations are comprised of four youth ages 14-15 years, 2 girls and 2 boys, who are accompanied by an adult leader.
CISV’s Step Up program is 23 days and encourages young people to take a leading role in planning and organizing activities. The participants and their adult leaders use CISV’s peace education to guide the theme of the camp around which they plan activities, such as identity, democracy, or environmental protection.
